“The first time I saw my own natal chart was the first time I understood the uniqueness of my own individual journey. It reassured me that I am exactly who I was meant to be. There is something enormously freeing in that.”
~ Cathryn McIntyre
“I have, as it were, my own sun and moon and stars, and
a little world all to myself.”
- Henry David Thoreau
One of the first things I did when I moved to Massachusetts in 1984 was to have my astrology chart prepared and read by astrologer, Jan Brink, Ph.D. Jan, who I would later learn had also lived in Michigan, was the owner of Unicorn Books and Spiritual Resource Center that in 1984 was in Lexington, MA. Soon she would move the shop a few miles down Mass Ave into a large old Victorian home in Arlington Heights that would become my spiritual home base for the next two decades. My first reading with Jan though was in Lexington in a sparsely furnished room above the shop. As she described the planetary influences that had helped to form me, I understood for the first time that I truly was the person I had always known myself to be and, more importantly, that I was exactly who and where I was meant to be.
I spent the next few decades after that initial reading actively pursuing my passionate interest in astrology, largely independently, but also through the many classes I took at Unicorn Books, and at other spiritual centers in the Boston area. I have given many readings over the years, some professionally, and also for friends and family, and I have proven its validity to myself and others many times over. The astrologers who have influenced me most are: Robert Hand, Isabel Hickey, Jeffrey Wolf Green, and Melanie Reinhart. More recently I am a fan of astrologer, Tom Jacobs and his work on the Black Moon Lilith.
I draw upon my psychic abilities when I read and that often results in readings that are both in depth and accurate. However, I don't have a regular practice and at present I am not offering personal readings. If you are a Thoreau fan you might like to read the natal report of Henry David Thoreau. He was born in this house on Virginia Road in Concord, MA on July 12, 1817, in the second floor room on the right side as viewed from the front. The windows are hidden by the tree branches in this view but the side window is visible in the picture below. The home, known as the Thoreau Farm Birthplace, has undergone a total transformation over the last several years. It is now the home of The Thoreau Society where they host many authors and lecturers. Cathryn McIntyre debuted her book, The Thoreau Whisperer there to a standing room only crowd on February 4, 2018.
From Thoreau's Natal Report: Uranus in the Tenth - You tend to get very nervous and feel totally unfulfilled whenever you try to follow the beaten path. Extremely restless and very independent, you must do things your own way and follow your own path.
From Thoreau's Walden: "If a man does not keep pace with his companions, perhaps it is because he hears a different drummer. Let him step to the music which he hears, however measured or far away."
